There’s this Boy….

Good morning! I’m stopping by the blog today to share a layout I created on the weekend at the cottage. Life has gotten much busier for me over the past five months, since I started my new career as a Travel Agent, in addition to looking after children in my home full time, and being a fulltime Mom and wife to my own family. It has been great, but I’m finding it harder and harder to find time to do some of my leisure activities/hobbies, such as scrapbooking! So when we decided to head to the cottage for the weekend this past weekend, but Saturday’s forecast was saying rain, I thought, “Aha!” I’ll take my scrapbooking stuff and work on some pages!”. Which is what I did.

So here is one page that I did. I was anxious to work with this new paper pack I received in the mail, it was called Jack and Jill designed by Lori Whitlock for Echo Park, a fave of mine. This is the Jack collection, which as you would guess, is for boys. I just took a photo of Dylan that I liked and went with it. I love the orange and blue colour combo.

DSC_1065In addition to the papers and stickers in the Jack collection, I used a few enamel dots from my stash, a paper frame from Michael’s, some coordinating cardstock, buttons from my stash and foam dots to raise up the picture. Here’s a little closer look at some of the elements of the page.

Today is my 20th wedding Anniversary actually….20 years married to the man of my dreams, the perfect fit for me, my soul mate….don’t know what I’d do without him. We are going out for supper tonight to celebrate. Looking forward to it. Have yourself a great day!

My Hubby and Me

Like I’ve said before, Fall layouts and Fall photos are among my very most favorite to do. We are moving into Christmas season here now though, which I love in real life, and I love taking photos of, but I really loathe scrapbooking Christmas photos. I am not sure why, I just feel like it’s the same thing year after year, the tree decorating, the baking, the present opening, the stocking hanging (although I do love my stocking!!), the turkey dinner, the parties with the same people, etc… which I love it all in real life, and capturing those special moments in photos, but to scrapbook them, nah. Paper is all the same year after year, hard to find a new way to scrapbook them, or something.

But, I digress. Back to Fall. Here is a fall layout that I whipped up in no time at a crop a few weeks ago, with a beautiful fall collection from last year by Echo Park, called Reflections of Fall by Lori Whitlock. Love her stuff!

This layout was inspired by the following sketch, which I found on Pinterest.

Sketch ~N~ Scrap

This layout was very easy to do. I just cut out some various sizes of circles to use some different patterned papers, used a few stickers (some popped up with foam dots), some brads and gems from my stash, a leaf from Michael’s, and that’s about it. All items are edges in brown pearlescent chocolate ink. Easy peasy.

I am indeed living the good life, with my hubby and my boys. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Well, this morning I’m continuing with the theme of Fall layouts, as they are among my very most favorite to do. Although most of the leaves are gone from the trees here now, it still feels like fall….although winter is just around the corner. So to celebrate fall for just a few more days I’m sharing a picture of my boys that I took, scrapbooked in a beautiful paper collection from last year by Echo Park, called Reflections of Fall.

In addition to the paper and embellishments provided by Echo Park I used some brown ink, some copper liquid pearls, a leaf from Michael’s, and a brad from Bo Bunny. That’s about it! I was inspired by a sketch from Sketchibilities, #126. Here it is here:

Well thanks for looking and have a great fall day!

This past weekend I went to my third and final scrapbooking crop of the fall. Three full weekends away to work on my scrapbooks uninterrupted, chatting and laughing with my girls, no housework, no meal prep, no laundry, it was heavenly! So I thought I’d share a favorite layout I completed.

This layout is using a paper collection from last fall, Reflections of Fall by Echo Park. To embellish the page I also used a wooden veneer doily from Michael’s, a wooden heart from The Cutting Garden, a project life 3×4″ card for a title, two different paper doilies also from Michael’s, some ribbon from my stash, some copper liquid pearls from The Cutting Garden, and lastly a corrugated cardboard tag that I also got at Michael’s. Everything is inked in pearlescent chocolate ink as well.
