I scrapbooked again, I scrapbooked again!! I took some time out of my busy schedule and I went in to my friend Renee’s two Saturdays ago and spent the day with her and our friend Tina scrapbooking in her living room. It was great fun. I managed to get three one page layouts done that day. This is one of them. I just LOVE the colours in this paper pack I used, Flutter by Fancy Pants Designs. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I picked it up at My Stamping Studio in Windsor, Nova Scotia, a wonderful little paper craft shop if you ever get the chance to go.
For inspiration, I totally used this (below) wonderful layout by my friend and fabulous scrapbooker Tracy McLennon. You can check out all her scrappy creations here. The blog post that features this layout and others can be found here: http://scrappychick101.blogspot.ca/2015/05/my-creative-scrapbook-may-reveal-day-2.html. Believe me you’ll be glad you looked her up. She’s amazing, and often a source of inspiration for me. Here’s her layout:
In addition to the elements in the Flutter pack I bought, I used coordinating cardstock, a green doily from Michael’s (LOVE doilies right now), some enamel dots, some tickets (also LOVE them right now!!) , a strip of pink ribbon and some foam dots to pop up the title, all from my stash. Here’s how it looks:
I had fun scrapping these fun, bright summer pics from last summer. Maria and I were at Dollar Lake hanging out on a summer’s day with friends. What we do best!! Thanks for looking and have a great spring day!!
Good morning! Today I’m stopping by the blog to post a bright and cheerful one page, one photo layout I did this past January at a weekend crop. It’s of Maria, one of the little girls I keep. It’s using MME products from the fall of 2014, the Jubilee collection I believe. I picked it all up at My Stamping Studio In Windsor.
Here’s a look at it:
The patterned papers are all MME like I said. I also used some cardstock, pop up foam dots to add dimension to the photo, brown ink around all my edges, some enamel dots from my stash, and the flower and ribbon are from Michael’s. The girlie colours were fun for me to work with for a change! Thanks for looking! Have a great week!
Well I’d like to be able to say it is a beautiful winter wonderland outside as we start to prepare for Christmas here in Nova Scotia, but I just can’t. Today it is wet, and grey and rainy and muddy. The end. Disgusting discouraging and yucky weather in Nova Scotia!! So rather than complain any further, I ‘ll reminisce about summer instead on the blog today!
Here is a pretty layout to remind you of the joys of sunshine and warmth and heat and beaches! This layout features the two little girls I babysit, Maria and Emma (sisters). The paper collection I used was called Solstice and it’s by Pink Paisley. I picked it up this summer at My Stamping Studio in Windsor. This is not a company I regularly create with, but the pretty soft colours caught my eye in a magazine actually so I when I saw it in Kelly’s shop I decided to pick it up, having no real idea what I’d do with the pink themed paper. But I knew I’d eventually put it to good use. Here’s what I created:
Doesn’t it just make you smile, thinking back on the fond memories of summer!!??
To complete this layout I used a variety of patterned paper, foam dots to raise up the journaling, a couple brads from my stash, brown ink and coordinating cardstock. Life is a journey as they say, enjoy it!
This morning I am stopping by the blog to share a double page, multi photo layout featuring my very special niece Scarlett, from Ottawa. I used the paper collection called Adorbs (very fitting don’t you think), from the Cut and Paste line created by My Mind’s Eye. This line is from 2013, but I still had lots of it laying around so I used it to go with Scarlett’s pretty pink dress. Not only do I love these pictures of Scarlett, but I love the colours in this paper line, and love having the opportunity to use them every once in a while (I have all boys). As you may recall from previous posts, MME is probably my all time favorite scrapbooking company. Followed closely by Echo Park and Simple Stories.
So here’s what I created:
To embellish the page I used some coordinating cardstock, brown ink on all my edges, and I added a few buttons also by MME, two ribbon clips in bright pink from Michael’s, some white liquid pearls, a large circle punch (a great way to use various patterned papers in your layouts) and some foam dots to raise a few elements up to add depth and dimension. Now for a closer look:
Thanks for looking and have a great Fall day.
Good morning! Today I am stopping by the blog to share with you a layout I completed last weekend at the crop I attended in the Valley. But before I start I want to say that I was lucky for once (It’s a rare thing!) and I won the shopping spree this past weekend at the crop!! Everyone bought tickets all weekend long on a shopping spree, and low and behold I won! I won 325.00 in store credit to My Stamping Studio. How exciting is that!!?? Can’t wait to spend that as all the new product starts rolling in over the next few months! Here I am with my winning tickets!
Now, onto the layout….Here is a one page layout I created using the Mildred Collection from MME. This layout showcases a picture of my Mom, my sisters and I, my aunt (mom’s sister) and my cousins all getting together to go out for supper at the dinner theatre to celebrate Mom’s 65th birthday. It was a fantastic night.
In addition to the MME papers and stickers, I used a MME crocheted flower from last year that was in my stash, a white flower from Michael’s, wooden veneer pieces also from Michael’s, buttons from my stash, and some coordinating cardstock and brown ink.
I love when ever the opportunity presents itself to do a girly layout use feminine colours, because as you might imagine, having a hubby and two sons, most of my layouts are fairly masculine. So it’s fun when I can mix it up! Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Since I was away scrapbooking on the weekend I have lots to pick from to share on the blog today. So here is another favorite from the pile, a single page layout of my niece Zoey I used a collection made by MME from last year this time, called The Sweetest Thing. I picked it up at My Stamping Studio. Since my family is made up of entirely males, and a lot of what we do as a family is masculine in nature, it’s always a special treat for me when I get to scrapbook something of a feminine nature and use girly colours and products! To complete this layout, I also used pink cardstock, a few paper butterflies which were from Basic Grey, silver liquid pearls, a couple very small wooden veneer shapes, and a few brads also by MME. The background shape was cut on my Cricut using the Elegant Edges cartridge. All edges are inked in pearlescent chocolate. Here’s how it turned out:
Thanks for looking and get out and enjoy that sunshine today! There’s rain on the way. But that’s okay, I have a few cupboards that need sorting, and my living room needs dusting!
